Ingredients
3 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup softened butter
2 cups sugar
4 room temperature eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups pumpkin
1/4 cup butter cream icing
1/2 - 1 cup Powdered Sugar
Instructions
Heat oven to 325/ F. Spray Skull pan with pan spray. Put pan on baking sheet to steady.
1. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a small bowl.
2. Beat butter and sugar together until frothy.
3. Add eggs, one at a time.
4. Mix in vanilla.
5. Alternate adding flour and pumpkin mixtures until everything is mixed together.
6. Pour into prepared pans, dividing the mixture evenly between the two skull halves.
Bake for 65 - 75 minutes until toothpick entered into center of pan comes out clean.
Allow to cool in pan for 15 minutes then turn onto a cooling rack and cool completely before assembling.
Level the cakes, brushing off any excess crumbs.
Use icing to 'glue' pieces together If the pieces don't stay together, used some toothpicks to old the pieces together. Cut the cake carefully.
Dust cake with brush dipped in confectioners' sugar. Leave eyes, nose and some of the teeth undusted.
