Join us Sunday, May 17, 2026, for a cooking class with Jill Ragan as she brings you her Sunday Artisan Sourdough Workshop. This class will run from 2-5pm.
There's something special about pulling a warm, crusty loaf of sourdough from your own oven, and in this hands-on workshop you'll learn how to make it a part of your every day rhythm. In this 3 hour class, we will walk through the sourdough process from start to finish in a way that is approachable, realistic and designed for home bakers. You will not only learn to work with sourdough, you will begin your own the moment you walk in! Together, you will:
- Create your own sourdough starter and learn how to care for it at home;
- Mix and handle sourdough from scratch;
- Learn stretch and folds and proper dough development;
- Shape your own artisan loaf to take home and bake;
- Score and bake pre-fermented dough in class;
- Break down a finished loaf to understand crumb, crust and fermentation;
and end the class gathering around fresh bread straight from the oven!
You will be offered a glass of wine and provided with water. You are welcome to bring any beverage of your choice, and we do sell soft drinks, mineral water and other beverages in the store.
Reserve a spot by calling us at 501-664-6900 or checking out right here in our online store!
If you are part of a larger party please let us know.
All ticket sales are final. Due to food prep, planning, different chefs and food costs, tickets cannot be transferred to any future classes. You may transfer your seat to someone else for the same date/class.
More about the Chef:
Jill Ragan is the heart behind Whispering Willow Farm, where she shares the art of from-scratch living, sourdough baking, and growing food with intention. What began as late nights feeding a sourdough starter after work has grown into a thriving farm and educational platform dedicated to helping families reconnect with their roots.
Jill teaches sourdough in a way that removes overwhelm and builds confidence, blending traditional techniques with modern practicality. Her approach is rooted in simplicity, rhythm, and the belief that bread is more than food — it’s connection.
When she’s not tending her starter or harvesting from the garden, she’s teaching others how to bring slow, meaningful practices back into everyday life.
We are thrilled to have her join the Eggshells Family!
