Join us Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, from 6:00pm-8:00pm for a cooking class with Chef Randy Akel, where he will teach the class how to prepare Chicken Shawarma, Persian Salad and Rice Pilaf.
Chicken Shawarma is a popular Middle Eastern dish consisting of seasoned meat (chicken, beef or lamb) cooked on a rotating spit. It is slow cooked and shaved off to serve on warm pita brea with various vegetables, hummus and sometimes pickles, with a garlic sauce called Toom.
Palestian Cucumber Salad is a crisp cucumber, juicy tomato and red onion combination with mint and parsley, tossed in a olive oil and fresh lemon dressing.
Classes typically run for two hours, and include all dishes you and the chef prepare.
You will be provided with water to drink, and we do sell soft drinks, mineral water and some other beverages at Eggshells, but you are also welcome to bring any beverage of your choice. Reserve a spot by calling us at 501-664-6900 or checking out right here in our online store!

All ticket sales are final. Due to food prep, planning, different chefs and food costs, tickets cannot be transferred to any future classes. You may transfer your seat to someone else for the same date/class.
More about the Chef:
Randy Akel began his cooking career at the ripe old age of 8, working in his mother's and uncle's restaurant in North Little Rock. He started off washing dishes, bussing tables and cleaning during the summers and weekends during school. He started out cooking by watching and assisting his mother and the cooks making various dishes from biscuits to meatloaf, before transitioning to helping with prep for daily breakfasts and lunches.
At home, his mother prepared home cooked meals for the family, either traditional Palestinian food or Southern favorites. His lifelong passion for cooking led Randy to purchase Mama's Gyros Grill in March 2012. Randy still owns and runs Mama's Gyros, is still loving every minute of it! We are so excited to welcome him to our Eggshells family!
